Subgroups

There are a number of sub groups that specialise in specific modules or areas of interest. You do not need to be a member of COSI to join these groups, however do need to be a member to view the minutes of meetings archive from these groups. • Acquisitions
• Cataloguing (COSICAT)
• Inter-Library Loans (ILL)
• Public Libraries User Group (PLUG)
• Systems Admin - under consideration, its remit would include matters such as Circulation, Reports, Director's Station and Self-issue on Unicorn / Symphony.
• User experience - new group which has met once by e-mail exchanges. It would deal with all matters relating to the customer interface, including iBistro, iLink, EPS and Enterprise.

The sub groups meet as they need to discuss requirements for their particular specialist areas, and well as swap ideas and concerns.

They collectively put forward enhancement requests to SirsiDynix – giving each request more chance of being realised as there are many votes instead of just one.

We are always happy to help new subgroups if you feel there is a need to discuss a particular module or specialist area.

Most of the active subgroup members are using Unicorn or Symphony systems. If you are a Horizon user, please let us know if you are aware of Horizon subgroups out there.

COSI are happy to support subgroups where we can by giving them webspace to advertise meetings and host the minutes of their meetings. Please note however, this facility will only be seen by our members. So while you do not need to be a member to join a subgroup, you will need to be a member of COSI to view any minutes or meeting announcements.
